Documentation from an exhibition in my father’s truck.
Truck drivers are allowed to drive for a maximum of 4.5 hours at a time. After that, they must take a 45-minute break before continuing. I wanted to translate this relationship between time and labor into my studio practice.
From one form of work to another; from the road to the drawing. I chose drawing as a form of monotonous labor. 4.3 cm on the paper equaled one hour of work. I drew for 4.5 hours, which became a total of 19.3 cm.
After that, I took a break and left the paper blank. Then I continued drawing for another 4.5 hours. I repeated this for a week.
The drawing was printed on fabric to make it easier to transport and exhibit. The truck became a gallery. I exhibited my drawings every time my father stopped the truck alongside handing out zines.
